2016 Safeway Open Recap

Brendan Steele captured the Safeway Open title over the weekend, going Birdie, Birdie, Birdie to close out a Sunday round of 65. Steele powered thru a rain filled weekend in Napa Valley to lead the field with 24 birdies. It was his 2nd career win on the PGA Tour and he now leads the FedEx cup field with 500 points as they kick off the 2016-2017 season. Here’s a look at how the top 10 (with ties) finished up at the Safeway Open:

The top 5 in our Safeway Open Power Rankings finished very well, with only one MC and three top 10 finishes in Casey, Na, and Mickelson:

The PGA Tour continues its season this weekend at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia at TPC Kuala Lumpur.  Justin Thomas will look to defend his title against a field that will include names like Adam Scott, Patrick Reed, Paul Casey, and Ryan Moore.
