2016 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

2016 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

The PGA Tour continues this week in Las Vegas, NV. Here’s our top 5 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open:

# Player Recent Finishes Tournament History Comments
1 Francisco Molinari  (6) WGC HSBC Champions
(1) Italian Open
MC The Barclays
(47) Travelers Championship
No Course
History
Molinari is one fire right now. He hasn’t played at the Shriners before, but we trust his recent form to propel him to the top 10 this week. A win two weeks ago at the Italian Open and a 6th place finish in a talent-packed WGC have Molinari as our #1.
2 Scott Piercy (63) WGC HSBC Champions
(10) CIMB Classic
(3) Safeway Open
(24) BMW Champ
(25) 2015
(7) 2014
MC 2013
(6) 2012
(10) 2011
(28) 2010
Piercy has looked good post FedEx Cup Championship, with two top 10 finishes, including a top 5 at the Safeway Open. He plays really well here and, with the exception of a 2013 MC, consistently finishes in the top 25 at Shriners.
3 Chris Kirk (2) Sanderson Farms
(8) Safeway Open
(10) BMW Champ
(33) Deutsche Bank
(36) 2013
(36) 2012
Average course history but Chris Kirk is playing really well right now. He didn’t qualify for the Tour Championship, but was great in the FedEx cup prior to that. Since then he’s got a top 10 and a top 5 at the Sanderson Farms and Safeway Open.
4 Ryan Moore  (23) WGC HSBC Champions
(17) CIMB Classic
(2) TOUR Champ
(64) BMW Champ
(43) 2015
MC 2014
(9) 2013
(1) 2012
MC 2011
(7) 2009
Moore finished 2nd in the Tour Championship and has pretty consistent since. Looked good in the Ryder Cup and added a 17th and 23rd place finish in weeks since. He’s got a win a Shriners and 3 top 10s total.
5 Jimmy Walker (77) WGC HSBC Champions
(28) TOUR Champ
(13) BMW Champ
(3) Deutsche Bank
(50) 2015
(4) 2014
(12) 2013
(10) 2012
MC 2010
MC 2009
Didn’t have a good finish at the WGC, but look for a bounce back week from one of the most consistent players on Tour. Plenty of experience at Shriners with three top 15s in the past 4 years.
